“Not at all what I meant. If I’m no longer employed there, then there is no office romance to worry about. “

“You can’t quit. How are you going to live? Unless you happen to suddenly become independently wealthy.”

He laughed, “I have another job lined up. The position with my godfather was just until I found something else. I didn’t feel right just taking his money so he gave me the security job. We will have to keep things very discreet a little while longer, but once I leave there, we are free to date. Think you can handle that or would you rather just go our separate ways?”

Liza raised her head, her eyes meeting his. “I’ve had my taste of loneliness. I think I have to take a chance and allow some change in my life. It’s about time I let loose and lived a little bit.”

Anthony just smiled at her as she laid her head back on his chest. His hand played with her hair as she sighed contently. She still wasn’t sure if this was exactly the right decision to make. Maybe, in the end, he’d hurt her like everyone else. However, she couldn’t live her life all alone and the only way she was going to not do that was to open herself up to potentially finding someone to love. Right now, she was feeling pleased and getting sleepy. The last thing she felt before drifting off was Anthony’s lips on her forehead. A thought went through her mind that she could get used to something like this.

  Second Chance

  CHAPTER 1

I knew that it was going to be important to ‘WOW’ her again. I just knew that if I could get into her heart she would take me back.

I wanted my ex-wife back so much that it was killing me inside. I wanted to make sure that everything was going to go as planned. I had the white cloth on the table, candles in the middle of the table just ready to be lit when she walked in through the door.

“How is everything coming along in here?” I called out, looking at the kitchen staff.

“Almost done, we have the salad for the first entrée and then we have the seafood platter and baked potatoes just the way she likes them, Mr. Jenson.” The chief grinned.

I gave him a nervous smile. Rubbing my hands together I caught myself in the mirror.

My blonde hair was combed back, my blue eyes shined as if I was getting ready for a big client that was going to change everything.

The maids had the mansion cleaned up. Everything looked sparkling. Looking at the clock I could see that it was only four in the afternoon. I had an hour in a half to make sure that I was ready myself.

Melinda was the only woman who I wanted, I had foolishly let her go. I let her walk right out the door when she told me that I was working too much, that I didn’t have enough time for her.

I ran a software company, I had clients and I worked out of the home most of the time. I know that I didn’t have to work a lot, things were running great with the employees that I did have. The problem was I didn’t know how to relax. I didn’t know how to do any of that.

If I wanted a second chance I was going to have to show her that I could. There was no answering the telephones, there was no answering my cell phone that was always on. I planned on shutting it off no matter how much it killed me to not look at it.

“Show her that you love her. Show her that she’s the only one that matters.” I whispered to the reflection in the mirror.

I knew that I could do this. I loved her so much that I would give everything up for her and she was willing to come have dinner. That was a start.

I don’t know how many times I’ve tried getting her over to see me, to have dinner and something always came up. Either I had to work, there was a problem at the company or she was having her own struggles that she didn’t want to talk to me about.

We were friends, good friends. I wanted so much more. I could see the spark in her brown eyes when we looked at one another but at the same time she was guarded, and I couldn’t blame her for that. I was the one who had made her that way.

“Not this time Adam. Don’t you go and make her feel that way this time. Show her that you’re a changed man.” I murmured, turning away from the mirror and going back into the dining hall.

The table was round, it was set up for just the two of us. No one was to bother us unless there was more food coming in. I knew that if any of the staff bothered us than it wasn’t going to be good. It wasn’t going to be pretty and I had already warned them.

The time approached quickly, I had the wine in the ice bucket on the table behind where I was sitting. The wine glasses were empty sitting on the table one glass at her place and one at mine.

I didn’t want the wine warm, but I didn’t want it too cold either. I poured the wine into the glasses five minutes before Melinda was to show up.

I took another quick look around before I heard the doorbell. It was her! I knew it was.

Rushing out of the dining room and going to the door I opened it how she looked took my breath away. She always did.

Melinda had her brown hair long and curled. Something she had always done herself. She had a beautiful blue dress on, her brown eyes were shining and the smile she gave me almost dropped me to my knees.

“Good evening.” She smiled at me.

“You look beautiful,” I told her, clearing my throat as I stepped out-of-the-way and let her into the house.

I closed the door behind her, seeing that the sun was not even close to setting. It was supposed to be a beautiful sunset that evening, and I planned to watch it with her.

We went to the dining room and sat down. Our salad was already waiting for us.

“What did you do today?” She asked, sitting down and putting her napkin on her lap like she always did.

“Nothing, I enjoyed my day, relaxed a little and enjoyed the weather.” I grinned, seeing the shocked look on her face.

“I am surprised you weren’t working.” She laughed, taking a few bites of her salad and chewing on it thoughtfully.

“No, I’ve cut back some. Not all the way but I’m learning that there’s more to life than just work all the time. I think that I’m finding more things that I enjoy doing that to be a stuffy office.” I pointed out to her.

Melinda laughed at me, I loved the way she laughed. I couldn’t help it. It was like music when she laughed filling my heart with love. Making me fall more in love with her.

“Good, something that I always wanted you to do.” She replied, nodding her head and taking a few more bites of her salad.

“I’m seeing where I went wrong.” I nodded, swallowing hard because I never admitted when I was in the wrong.

  CHAPTER 2

Melinda took a few sips of her wine before dinner started. I could see that she was letting it set in her mouth to enjoy the flavor before she swallowed it down.

We talked throughout dinner, I could see that she was really enjoying herself because she laughed more. She talked more as if she didn’t have to think about what she said before saying it, she was happier as the time went on and then the new maid walked in.

“What is it?” I asked everyone knew that I didn’t want any interruptions.

“It’s the phone. I guess they couldn’t reach you on your cell?” The maid asked, giving me a confused look.

“There’s a reason why they can’t get me on my phone. I had it shut off for a reason. I told everyone not to interrupt me tonight.” I glared at her, using a rough tone of voice.

“They say that it’s an emergency.” The maid shrugged her shoulders, he faces was red and she looked at Melinda as if she was going to save
her.

“Who is it?” I asked, clearing my throat and feeling my ears growing warm.

“The office.” The maid attempted a smile as she tried walking over to me on the phone.

“Tell them I will call them back, if they can’t figure out what the matter is without me then they should think about what their spot is in my company.” I put my hands up.

“Yes, Mr. Jenson.” She nodded her head and headed back out the door as if I was chasing her.

“Well, Adam, I guess that’s something completely different.” Melinda’s brown eyes had gotten big.

She was the type that had to see action. She didn’t believe in the words that had been repeated time and again, it was something that I had broken into her using my words. Now I was showing her.

“I told you, I’m learning to push work aside from a little more. I’m not always at the office anymore or behind the desk when I’m at home.” I grinned, drinking down the wine that was in my glass.

We had two more glasses of wine that evening and I looked out the window. I knew that the sun was going to be setting soon.

I wiped my mouth and stood up from the chair. I didn’t want the night to end. I wanted to have more time with her, to make more plans with her without having to ask her.

I walked towards her and stood in front of her chair. Putting my hands out for hers she took them but gave me a strange look.

“What are you doing?” She asked, laughing at me as I pulled her up for her seat.

“You will see.” I grinned, leading her out of the dining room and heading towards the main kitchen.

It was the only way to get to the backyard where I had another surprise waiting for her.

When we were out on the patio she could see from there what I had in mind. There was a blanket, a small table that had snacks and drinks on it beside the blanket and it was a clear view to see the night sky. The sunset and the stars when it was dark enough.

“Adam, you did all this for me?” Melinda gasped, letting go of my hand and bringing it to her necklace around her neck before she looked at me.

“I did, this part I did on my own. It’s nothing too fancy but I wanted to show you that I’m trying. I want to show you that I do love you, that I do want to put work aside and just be with you. To spend time without you, to do the unplanned.” I explained to her.

There was a moment of silence and I didn’t know what to do. I looked down at my feet. I looked down at the grass and I looked at anything but her eyes. I wasn’t sure what she was thinking.

“You’re starting to be the man who you used to be when we were first dating. These plans that make me happy. The shyness that you’re doing now. The way you look, not sure of what is going to happen. That’s sexy.” Melinda giggled.

I looked at her, feeling her arms wrap around my neck and feeling her soft lips on mine almost made my body shake.

“Come on, we can go sit down on the blanket and get comfortable.” I laughed, pulling away from her and taking her hand in mine.

Melinda’s lips left so good on mine. When I licked my lips, I could taste the wine that had stained them from the last glass she drank. Her perfume was making me dizzy and I don’t think she realized how much I wanted her.

We went to the blanket and sat down. We held hands and watched as the sun began to sink lower and lower. Promising beauty and happiness for the next morning that was only hours away.

“What are you doing tomorrow?” I asked her as the night sky began to darken slowly.

“Nothing, I have nothing planned.” She shook her head, not even thinking about it.

“I was going to go to the beach would you like to come with me?” I asked, wondering if I was pushing too much too fast.

“I would love to. I would love to spend the day with you.” Melinda stared into my blue eyes and she knew that I was hooked. She knew that I was in love with her.

Melinda moved in closer, she brought her lips slowly to mine and I watched as her beautiful eyes began to close slowly right before her lips brushed against mine I heard her moan softly. Something that I hadn’t heard come out of her mouth for a long time, it was strange to my ears.

  CHAPTER 3

The stronger she kissed me the more I relaxed. Melinda would never say I love you, I’ve heard it a few times since we were married and that was it. She showed how she loved and when she showed it you wouldn’t have to second guess how she felt about you. It was something that I managed to keep a hold of even now, even after all the mistakes that I had made I knew by the way she was kissing me that it wasn’t too late. That would be too late if I didn’t make a move to fix myself and what mattered most to me.

The night sky was getting darker and darker, I wanted to gaze up at the stars with her, it was something that I had planned to do. I wanted to show her that it was special to me.

“You don’t want to watch the stars come out?” I asked before she kissed me harder and harder.

She giggled against my mouth and pushed me back against the blanket. She pulled her lips away from mine and began to undress me. I kicked off my shoes and let her take my shirt off. I watched as she unbuttoned my pants and found what she was looking for.

“Out here?” I laughed, hoping that no one was going to come out.

“You need to take a walk on the wild side sometimes Adam. Who cares if someone walks out. We’ll give them a show.” She laughed at me before she brought her mouth to the head of my cock.

I watched her as she ran her mouth up and down my cock slowly. It was already hard for her, it felt good to have her tongue tease the length of me and I could feel the painful throbbing that only she could send through my body.

“Come up here and let me have you.” I gasped closing my eyes as she flicked her tongue back and forth over the head of my cock.

She knew how much I liked that, she knew just what kind of pressure she could put on me. She could make me cum in seconds if she really wanted to but when I opened my eyes I could see that she was in a teasing mood.

“Are you sure that’s what you want?” She asked, laughing at me.

I nodded my head, I couldn’t find my voice. I felt my heart racing, pounding hard against my chest. I knew that she was the only one that I wanted. She was the only one that made me feel alive.

She slowly lifted her dress, showing me her shaved pussy. I reached out to touch it and she slapped my hand away playfully. I knew that the only time she did shave. The only time she did tease was when she was ready when she had planned herself to have sex.

“I bet you miss me riding your cock.” She murmured to me, her voice so soft and sexy.

I grinned at her, nodding my head again. I wanted to speak but I hadn’t seen this straightforward woman like this in a long time it had taken a few months to get her back into this mode and I didn’t know how to talk to her.

I saw the challenging look in Melinda’s eyes, she knew that she had the upper hand now. she knew without a doubt that I was going to let her do anything she wanted to do.

I was turned on more by her taking control than anything else that night. She unzipped the back of her dress and I watched as her beautiful tits came out, they were happy to be set free. Her nipples were hard, I knew that they were going to be.

Straddling me Melinda brought one to my mouth and I eagerly sucked on it, licking the tip of her hard nipple, making it harder with the heat from my mouth. I could see the wish growing stronger and stronger as she stared down at me.

I felt her grab a hold of my hard cock and squeeze it hard in her hand. I moaned for her as she ran it back and forth slowly against her clitoris, I could feel the heat and the wetness as I felt her move the head of my cock into her pussy.

Within seconds she was grinding against my cock. I bit down on her tit that was in my mouth as she began to ride me slowly.

Bringing my hands to her hips I helped her to ride my cock faster and harder. Hearing her whimpering and crying out my name into the night I couldn’t beli
eve how long it had been. It was then that I realized how much I had missed the fun times with her. How much I was willing to change for her and I was doing it. She was enjoying herself the way we had when we were first dating, and it was a high that I couldn’t describe even if I wanted to.

I felt her body shaking, I knew that she was getting ready to cum for me. It was a sign that I would never forget. I looked down at her feet and saw that her toes were beginning to curl. I loved how she begged me, how hard she grinds against my cock even though I was all the way inside of her.

Just like I thought I felt her pussy cum, it soaked my cock, drowning it in her sweet juices I came instantly inside of her the second I felt her floodgates open to me. I promised myself right then and there I was going to make sure I had her that I wasn’t going to mess it up this time. There was no way I was going to do that. I would be a damn fool if I did something stupid to have her walk out of my life again.

  CHAPTER 4

We laid there in each other’s arms under the star-filled sky. Just holding each other and staring up at them as they gleamed happily in the night. Neither of us speaking and it was a comfortable silence. The best silence that I’d heard in a while.

“You do know I love you, right?” She asked, taking her eyes away from the stars to look up at me.

“I didn’t know that until tonight. I didn’t think that you wanted to try again.” I cleared my throat, being honest.

“I do want to try, I see that you’re trying, and I don’t want that to stop. I’m worried that if I say yes then it will go good for a few months and you will go back to who you were.” She whispered, biting down on her lip.

“You don’t have to worry about that. I’ve had a long time to realize where I’ve gone wrong. I want to have you with me, I want to make you happy again.” I murmured.

“Good, I like the way things are going now. This is our second chance to show each other how much we mean to each other. It’s going to work out this time around. It’s going to be the best its ever been.” She snuggled up to me, she held me tighter than she ever had.
